OWNER. FLOWER GIRL. SEED COLLECTOR. PLANT NERD.
When I was young, trips to the garden center with my mom came with a stellar parenting bargain: if you’re good, you can choose a flower to bring home. I’m not at liberty to share how often I left with a plant in hand, but I can tell you that when I did, invariably, it was a pansy. I found their happy, sunny faces irresistible and secretly hoped they’d break into song as they did for Alice in her Wonderland.
Now I'm all grown up with my own flower-filled Wonderland and nobody to answer to at the garden center! Even as I put my green thumbs to work, flowers continue to capture my imagination and feed me in a way other parts of the garden can't. They are a source of joy for me and, I'm finding as I answer this call to the local flower movement, a beautiful way to connect and celebrate with people.
FARM NAMESAKE. VOLE PATROL. ALL-AROUND GOOD GIRL.
From the day we brought her home, Clover has had a keen interest in the garden. Whether she's on the hunt for voles and ground squirrels, sniffing every seedling before it's planted, or napping on the sun-warmed pea gravel, there's little doubt the garden is her favorite place to be. Even wintertime productions of seed starting and dahlia dividing are of interest to her, and involve that impossibly long nose checking out every. little. thing.
We apologize in advance for any little white fox terrier hairs you might find amongst your blooms. Rest assured it means your flowers have been carefully inspected and have passed the Clover Girl quality check.
